Trasa piesza ok. 3 km., czas ok. 1 godz. bez zwiedzania atrakcji

Międzynarodowy Dom Kultury to zabytkowy budynek w stylu klasycystycznym, z połowy XIX w. Budynek zdobią wspaniałe elewacje i atrakcyjne wnętrza. Nowe molo o długości 120m oddano do użytku w 1994r. Zdrojowej z ul. Boh. Mamy wyjątkową okazję spotkać tu Romea i Julię… ary zwyczajne, jak i inne gatunki tych inteligentnych ptaków, tj. konury, rudosterki i barwinki czarnogłowe. Dalej kierujemy się w stronę Placu Neptuna, przechodząc koło rosnących tu dwóch pomnikowych cisów pn. „Strażnicy”. Wysokie na 9 i 7m cisy o obwodzie 180cm stanowią element ścieżki przyrodniczej pn. „Szlak drzew pomnikowych”. Wchodzimy na Plac Neptuna ( 10 ), spacerując pomiędzy lokalami gastronomicznymi przechodzimy do ul. Światowida. Na ul. Światowida możemy zakupić liczne pamiątki z Międzyzdrojów. Kierujemy się w stronę Parku im. F. Chopina ( 11 ). Do parku wchodzimy stylizowaną ornamentyką, metalową bramą, imitującą wejście do parku zdrojowego sprzed 100 lat. Park został założony przez belgijskiego kupca Arnolda Lejeune w XIX wieku. Możemy tu podziwiać efektowne okazy dębów, platany pochodzenia greckiego, żywotniki i cisy.

Start the trail from the Tourist Information Point (1) located on the promenade at Promenada Gwiazd Street. The building, commonly called “Balbinka” by the inhabitants, is entered on the list of monuments and it was renovated and put into use in 2008.

Heading from “Balbinka” towards the oldest 4* hotel in Międzyzdroje, Vienna House Amber Baltic (opened in 1991), we pass the Avenue of Stars [Aleja Gwiazd] (2) - a work of Prof. Adam Myjak connected with the Festival of Stars [Festiwal Gwiazd] organised since 1996. It is an unusual avenue with over 200 bronze handprints of artists, monuments commemorating great figures of cinema and theatre. Walking down the Avenue of Stars you will reach the
C entrance to the beach, which is also adapted for people with disabilities.

From the Avenue of Stars, follow the promenade towards the pier. Walk through the English park, past the historic building of the International Community Centre [Międzynarodowy Dom Kultury] (3) and amphitheatre. The International Community Centre is a historic building in Classicist style from the middle of the 19th century. The building is decorated with magnificent façades and attractive interiors. It is a venue of numerous exhibitions, concerts and cultural events. Behind the International Community Centre, pass the building of the Wax Museum [Gabinet Figur Woskowych] (4), a large exhibition of life-size wax figures of people from the world of science, politics, art and fairy tales, the Planetarium (4), where on a 7-meter dome three-dimensional images from space are projected with a digital projector. In the same place there is also the Eva cinema, a café and the children's attraction “Mouse House” that is the Mousehole. After visiting the attractions, head to the main part of the promenade, rebuilt in 2011. Modern fountains were created here, in the form of glass curtains - waterfalls and a large number of futuristic-looking benches in the shape of pergolas.

Two distinctive white towers appear in front of you, leading inwards along the passage to the pier (5). The history of the pier is long and colourful, and this place has always been the focal point of the resort. The first Pier was built in 1884. An important year for the town was 1906, when the town councillor Bötker donated a capital of 250,000 marks for the renovation of the pier. On 1st July 1906 the pier was ceremonially opened and named after the German emperor Frederick III. It was about 370 metres long. Over the years, successive storms destroyed the wooden structure, which was always rebuilt. In 1954, the storm damaged almost the entire pier, and seven years later, the Art Nouveau arcade at the entrance to the pier was burnt. After that, the pier was repaired several times, until 1985, when strong winds and icy conditions caused great damage. The pier had to be closed for safety reasons. In 1989 the pier was completely demolished. Only the silhouettes of the towers remained. The new pier, 120 m long, was put into service in 1994. In 2003 the company “Adler Schiffe” undertook to extend the pier. The current pier in Międzyzdroje is the longest concrete pier in Poland with a length of 395 m, a place for walks for lovers and admirers of interesting landscapes. Walking back through the pier passage, you can stop in one of the numerous cafes offering tasty desserts.

Leave the promenade and head west. In front of you, there is a modern building of the Oceanarium (6), where you have a unique opportunity to look at the underwater world. Visitors can see the 16-meter-long half-tunnel, in which exotic fish and other marine organisms swim. Heading from the oceanarium to the crossroads of Zdrojowa Street and Bohaterów Warszawy Street, you will pass the “Aquamarina Prima” aparthotel on your right to a footbridge over the dunes (7). The total length of the footbridge is 950m, it is adjusted for the disabled and has functional viewing terraces. Walk the short 70m or so distance of the footbridge, admiring the seaside views to exit F at Rybacka Street.

Leave the footbridge and go down Rybacka Street. Turn left at the “Bałtyk” building onto Mikołaja Kopernika Street. After walking about 50 m, on the left side of the pavement, you can see two small wooden buildings of characteristic historic architecture. Villa “Tyrolska” and Villa “Katjuscha” (8) were built at the turn of the 19th and 20th century, they were successful as summer residences of wealthy citizens of Szczecin and Berlin. They were built in the Swiss style, which is a mixture of Russian, Swiss and Scandinavian folk building patterns. These small houses decorated with wooden laces, openwork verandas and turrets, more resemble small palaces than ordinary dwellings. It is interesting to note that Villa “Katjuscha” was originally moved entirely from the Moscow area. This happened on a whim of a rich resident of Berlin or Szczecin. Walking down Mikołaja Kopernika Street, pass the newly renovated building of the Police Station in Międzyzdroje and head towards the stairs leading to Gryfa Pomorskiego Street.

Going down the stairs, you can admire a flowerbed with the inscription “Międzyzdroje”. Head straight along Gryfa Pomorskiego Street, then pass the crossroads with Krótka Street. At Krótka Street there is a chapel from 1902 with a half-timbered turret Stella Matutina, which means the “Morning Star”, that is the one which allowed fishermen to safely return to the port. The chapel has been home to the Sisters of Mercy of St. Borromeo for more than 100 years, who used to and still help the poor and needy. The chapel was visited by the Polish Primate S. Wyszyński in 1952.

At Gryfa Pomorskiego Street, pass the Parrot House [Papugarnia] (9). In this place, 41 exotic colourful specimens take the tourist into a different world. You can see how parrots play, show off and even cuddle. You have a unique opportunity to meet Romeo and Juliet, blue-and-yellow macaws, as well as other species of these intelligent birds, such as conures, painted conures and black-headed parrot. Further on, head towards Neptune Square [Plac Neptuna], passing by two monumental yew trees called “Watchmen” [“Strażnicy”]. The yew trees, 9 and 7 m high, with a girth of 180 cm, are part of the nature trail called the “Trail of Monumental Trees” [“Szlak drzew pomnikowych”].

Enter the Neptune Square (10) and then, walking between the restaurants, go to Światowida Street. At Światowida Street you can buy numerous souvenirs from Międzyzdroje.

Head straight towards the F. Chopin Park (11). Enter the park through a stylised ornamental metal gate which imitates the entrance to the spa park from 100 years ago. The park was founded by the Belgian merchant Arnold Lejeune in the 19th century. Here you can admire impressive specimens of oaks, plane trees of Greek origin, sycamores and yews. Pass the stone dedicated to the famous marine painter Erik von Zedtwitz, the fountain and the bust of the eminent composer Frederic Chopin. Going up the stairs, reach “Balbinka” and end your tour by the peacock made of flowers, commonly called “Tolek” (12). Why Tolek? German tourists stopping by the floral peacock said “toll”, which means delightful, when passing it. Employees taking care of the town's greenery liked this very much, so they named the peacock Tolek and that is how it remained.
